chinese food and hand knit shorts

i finally met renee! renee is the one responsible for many of my hand knit clothes. she made the little outfit i came home from the hospital in, including the green pants that my mom's favorite pants that she called my 'fisherman pants' because they came up so high on me. it was a sad day when i grew out of all the great stuff. luckily, she knit me some spectacular little shorts that i am sure to wear a whole lot this summer!

renee, nancy and i went to hop li in chinatown. my mom ate some tasty stuff...especially the salty, spicy, squid. it was all really good. i can't wait to eat it first hand.

carmen's 5th birthday cake

say cheese! (more from santa cruz)

a typical day in l.a.

i spend many hours each day laying around the living room floor in front of the window. i roll, drive, read and rattle. i also use my walker (footage coming soon!). rarely, i nap. i do enjoy myself though....

visiting nick n eny's

my mom and i took a walk to visit my aunt and uncle....they live in monterey park too!

below is a picture from our walk. in the distance, is a big hill. that is where phil spector lived.

nobody walks in l.a.

more from santa cruz: my aunt nancy

my aunt nancy has purchased my mom some fun clothes this trip. but nothing for me. she was wondering why there were no pictures of her on my blog. i told her once. i'll tell her again: no clothes. no blog. when my 'super fly' outfit arrives you will see her face. until then...well, i keep my word.

more from santa cruz: away in the manger

just because i was born on christmas eve, everyone thinks i like to sleep in barns, mangers and sheds. me and my folks slept in my aunt's shed....can you locate me in the box at the foot of the bed?

the o.c.

we went to the o.c. to visit cousin arlene. nick and annie took us to lunch and for a walk on the beach....as you can see, it was a beautiful day!

the picture below is a tree in front of arlene's house. a family of herons live in the tree. in this photo, you can easily see three or four of the baby herons and one of the adult/parents in the lower right hand region. the 'babies' have been spreading their wings are nearly ready to take flight. pretty cool to live across the street from them. (pretty uncool to live below these giant birds.)

hollywood pool party at fred and jason's

we went to a pool party at fred and jason's super cool pad in hollywood. it was in celebration of henry's birthday (and a few others). they have a spectacular home. everything in the house is cool....even the toilets! one toilet is a 'hat box'. it looks like a hat box. fred has really great taste! speaking of, we met jason for the first time....fred scored.

lisa greeted us and played with me on this little car.
this is the pool...it was lovely. i had a blast floating in the yellow ring. i'm a serious lounger...
this is my rad swimsuit....it's just as cute as i am....

above is me with fred. below is me with jason (and henry and lisa's son nicholas)

i played with my friends and then i napped on the chaise lounge....

breakfast with the mystique mustangs of mission high

we joined my mom's girlfriends from mhs for breakfast on sunday....it was great to meet tina and vienna! i hope to see them again soon.

good night

my aunt mawe

this is my great aunt mawe...just last week she was acknowledged for her volunteer work at the hospital (where my mom was born). she has been volunteering at the hospital since 1975! my mom attended a dinner for the volunteers at the hospital..the theme was 'how sweet it is'.

family photo

this is a picture of my family in santa cruz. annie bean was at home so she was unable to be in the picture...

keeping in touch my dad

while i am in california i keep in touch with my dad via skype. this way he gets to see me every day. i miss him, and he misses me. thank goodness for technology.

santa cruz

i have a lot to share about my trip to santa cruz. primarily, i met my cousins and a ton of little girls. there are tons of little videos and photos to post from the adventure. and, if my mom were to post them all at this point, she would never, ever catch up to where we are now on the trip. so, rather than fall eternally behind, my mom made the decision to skip a 'santa cruz' posting and just continue on with the trip.....but don't worry...santa cruz photos and clips will be added, scattered throughout. above is a photo of me with my cousins carmen and omar. and the movie below is when i met some of carmen's girl friends:

brett, liz and the girls

on our way out of town, we visited with our friends brett and liz and their 3 dogs: billie, ella and piggy joe. billie isn't doing so hot these days, so i am really glad to have gotten the chance
to meet her. my mom really loves her so. we hope she is eternally comfortable.

UPDATE: little billie - 7.28.97 - 6.7.08

cute clothes in california

being a girl has its perks! while in northern california, my aunt and grandmother gave me some pretty spectacular new outfits! in addition to these rad shades, i was given a beautiful little dress and bloomers from my grandmother giuliana! my aunt cris hooked me up with these other two little numbers. she also gave me some green flip flops to go with the green and brown linen and crocheted romper! my father hates flip flops. he doesn't believe that ANY woman can pull them off. being that i am his baby...he said he approved of the shoes. he claims that only my feet are cute (and clean) enough to pull off the look. unfortunately, they didn't stay on for squat. but man...are they cute.

my friends: maya and sadie

you know all of those cute clothes i have?? well....a very large number of them are compliments of my friend's maya and sadie. my mom went to college with their folks: marc and jen. for the first time ever, i had the great opportunity to meet them. they live in petaluma. my mom really misses them and wishes we lived closer together. it'd be fun to hang out with them more often....

a walk in the park

my grandmother and grandfather live high up in the hills of richmond. nearby is a local park. typical of the oakland hills area, there is no swing set..instead, it's a lot like hiking. the views from there are amazing...we could see the golden gate bridge and beyond. as you can see, i really enjoyed being carried around by my father in the bjorn. it was just another beautiful day.

flash is an obdient dog

california...part one: richmond, ca

i have been off-line for a while, so this post is going to be a bit of a mess...it is going to contain pictures and movie clips from the first two weeks of my trip. forgive me if the order is haphazard, my mom will do her best to post things chronologically, but she's certain there will be errors. my grandparents just got wireless service today, so in the future, these posts will be more timely. in the mean time...enjoy my california thus far!

the trip started in richmond at my grandparents giuliana and roger's home. i met my aunt cristina and my cousins scott and justin...and flash, the wonder dog. we visited jen, marc, maya and sadie in petaluma and then brett, liz and the 'girls' (billie, ella, and piggy joe) in san francisco.
then we went to santa cruz where all kinds of chaos ensued. i met my uncle eric and cousins carmen and omar. and, as it was carmen's 5th birthday, i met a bunch of her girl friends. my aunts diane, nancy and rebecca were there too. we then drove down to l.a. with my tata and nana. this is where i am now......meeting all sorts of others......

take a look!

above is my cousin justin.....
below is his assistance dog flash and my auntie cristina...

thanks to sara and laura for lending me this cute and clever travel bed...as you can see....i made the most of this bed!
