newport, rhode island

newport is located just under 2 hours from here. we made a day trip and visited the mansions, the 'cliff walk', the quaint neighborhoods, and the harbor. the great mansions of newport are where the parties from the great gatsby took place. it's a very old and beautiful town.

we happened to be in newport, rhode island for the new england kite festival. pretty cool stuff!

somerville family fun day

somerville hosts 'family fun day'....we rode a 'train', ate hot dogs and fruit, ran through sprinklers and played at the park...............fun in the sun!

my parents had a party for my 1.5 birthday! they cleaned up the yard but the rain (before and after) didn't allow us to have the party outdoors as planned. my uncle david got me the fabulous ice cream cake. my mom created an image of my favorite things to put on the cake: my cell phone with 'jellycat' on it! my nana sent me a new dress and my grandmama sent me some snazzy sands! pictures cannot explain the madness that took place. our house is too small to get a wide shot, so there were never more than a few people in any one photo....but over the course of the day, nearly 45 people came over....and 15 of them were under 2 years old. it was wild. and exhausting. and a ton of fun........

uncle dave and vanessa's visit.

my uncle david brought vanessa out from l.a. for orientation at bu. we had a lovely visit....and are glad that they will be visiting again next month!
